Provenance: Architect Lapadula who had been commissioned to decorate the interiors of the Raphael Turbonave.

The project was designed to take part in a competition in order to create the decorations of the Venetian salon of the Turbonave Raffaello, which however were entrusted to Mario Deluigi.
The turboship Raffaello was the last transatlantic ship of the Italian Navigation Company. She remained in service for only ten years, from 1965 to 1975.
Raffaello’s first-class salons were designed by the Lapadula studio in Rome. Many artists participated in the decorations, including the aforementioned Mario Deluigi, Edgardo Mannucci, Alice Psacaropulo, Marcello Mascherini and Francesco Coccia. Furthermore, a real art gallery was set up on the promenade deck in which sixteen works by contemporary Italian artists were exhibited, including Leonor Fini, Guido Cadorin, Domenico Purificato, Orfeo Tamburi and Cristoforo De Amicis.
