On the back there is a label with the following inscription: Annunziata Roscioli born in Rome in 1818. By the hand of heavenly providence she was married to the painter Pietro Gagliardi on 30 November 1850 with whom she lived happily for about seven years, had three children and was loving mother, faithful wife, affectionate daughter, incomparable sister, very affable with everyone. But God in his divine wisdom had disposed otherwise of that blessed soul; and on September 24, 1857 she passed with angelic tranquility, from her life, to her eternal life, leaving not only her relatives but all who knew her immersed in her pain.
